  1. Hi, How much size (or space) you allot for a free/pro user?

    Pavan, April 15 2010   6:16 am

  2. Space is unlimited for both Free and Pro users! Write away!

    Penzu Support, April 16 2010   11:13 am

  3. Will this site always have a free version?
I hope you dont start charging when you get a sizeable
    user base??

    Rohit, April 23 2010   11:57 am

  4. Free users will never be charged or forced to pay a fee…

    Penzu Support, April 25 2010   4:27 pm

  5. If we dont have the pro version, is my journal still private, like no one can view it?

    sam, August 18 2010   6:38 pm

  6. Yes, even without the Pro version, your account is entirely private!

  7. If i use penzu pro for a year with all the features and decided to change back to free version, what will happen with my old entries edited with the pro version?

    Christina, September 9 2010   4:40 am

  8. Old entries will lose any rich text formatting, tags, or backgrounds or themes, but otherwise will be intact in the free version of Penzu should you decide to downgrade. So no entries will be lost!

  9. I love Penzu for making this online Journal available. It’s just what I’ve been searching for. It’s advertisement on the “Fitness Through Fasting Website” was perfectly placed because I was there seeking information about fasting and had intended to journal about my fasting experience and Bam! There it was. In one click I immediately signed-up, set-up an account, logged-in established my settings, and began writing. I love it and look forward to the Pro Version. Thanks Penzu!!!

  10. Is there a way to purchase just a Penzu app on your itouch without going pro? Or do you have to pay the 19$ a year forever? Also,if you are Pro but then down grade what will happen to your Penzu app? Will it still be there? Or will it stop working after you are no longer pro?

    Delaney, December 16 2010   1:48 am

  11. Our Penzu Mobile app is web based, and users can only log in if they are Pro members. The app is never purchased—if you go to http://penzu.com/m—on your device per se, it is just “accessed”. So in order to access it, you must be a pro user. If you decide to journal as a Pro user on your mobile device, and then want to downgrade to a free account, your entries will still be in your account, but only available from your desktop computer/laptop.

  12. I’m a faithful Pro user, but reading this made me curious. If one year I decided not to have a Pro account, and I lost all of the formatting and other amenities, if I ever re-upgraded back to a Pro account, would those re-appear?

    Wilton, February 12 2011   3:27 am

  13. I have journaled for just over ten years and now have 64 notebooks full!
Penzu sounds a first class idea – but has anyone any ideas on what to do with one’s journal eventually? If I switch to Penzu, what happens when I die? Does Penzu take post-death disposal instructions?
Is there an organisation in Britain or the USA that is interested in journals as a form of social history? Quite apart from present therapeutic benefit, journals must be of some interest to someone of discretion, somewhere? My journals are a record, spiritual as well as mundane – any ideas, anyone?

    Peter L, March 4 2011   4:36 pm

  14. Hi Peter,

We love the idea of posterity and legacy. We’re always thinking about it so we hope to one day have something that addresses this issue.

    Thanks for using Penzu!

    Penzu Support, March 4 2011   4:46 pm

  15. I just want to chime in and say: (1) Penzu is wonderful; thank you for making this website; and (2) Peter L’s ideas regarding post-death disposal instructions are brilliant. It would be a strong incentive to pay for the Penzu Pro subscription and generate a lot of great publicity for Penzu, no doubt. Options to offer might include: (1) Destroy the electronic journal; (2) provide the journal to a predesignated survivor after an optional wait period; (3) offer the journal to a university or museum after an optional wait period. The chosen option might be executed upon receipt of a certified letter from a predesignated executor containing a code word mentioned in the journalist’s Last Will and Testament.

  16. Great ideas Scott, thanks!!

    Penzu Support, April 11 2011   2:11 pm

  17. Can you cut and paste note, poems or articles from other website?

    b walsh, September 3 2011   9:27 pm

  18. Sure can!

    Penzu Support, December 29 2011   5:14 am

  19. Unfortunately all formatting is lost forever, so re-upgrading starts a new Pro account!
