Is Penzu different from blogging?
Yes, Penzu is very different from writing in a blog. While a blog is more commonly read by others, Penzu is read by you. Entries are private by default and if you want, can be shared. With blogs, entries are public by default and privacy is a second (often buried) setting.
So feel free to write and do anything – no one is watching!

I’m thinking one day you could/should sell to Google (Doc’s division) – reason I mention this is that your interface is more user friendly (fantastic! in fact), and simply sharing a Google Doc (private or not) does not capture the ‘journal’ aspect your service provides (dates, pictures, and ‘note-pad’ ease/feel. I think I’m going pro now. Was wondering, however; Can you offer multiple logins/contributors to one journal? I’d like to use Penzu Pro for a family tool to capture notes from all members of my family living in different households – without simply sharing one username and password amongst us.

Thanks for the kudos!
Currently we don’t allow multiple users for one account. What you are trying to achieve is collaboration on a document and we don’t support that at the moment…

Wow! What a GREAT idea – an on-line diary! I am 41 years old and have always wanted to keep a daily journal. I have a drawer full of diaries I started but never committed too. Its so much easier to keep a diary when you can type rather than write… and you can BACKSPACE and DELETE!!!! I will strongly consider going Pro after using Penzu for a bit. I love the idea of being able to insert pictures. Please keep up the good work!!
With much appreciation,
Maria (from Westchester, IL)

wow. something that works. i use it for my writing class….and…it would be absolutely lovely if a page would allow editing (highlighting, for example, or strike through, or underline) then you’d have a tool teachers would fight to sing on for

Unfortunately, formatting of text can be done with a Penzu Pro account only. You can upgrade to Penzu Pro here.

I have been using LJ for a long time and find Penzu different and very refreshing and more like an intimate space. I would go Pro the moment I can write via my Blackberry (I do that most of the time in LJ)and attach PDF / Docs.

Have only been using Penzu for 24 hours, but was so impressed that I didnt hesitate to upgrade to Pro, especially as its very reasonably priced and also part donation to worthy cause.Appreciate the ability to be able to tweet entries, and I know we can import to blog, but any plans to be able to export entry direct to a blogging service?
Thanks- I really wanted to start keeping a journal but couldnt face not having it online. Penzu sorts all that out!

You can easily export your entries from Penzu as an XML file which can then be imported to almost any blog service. There are two types of XML files so be sure to check what format is required by the blog service you are importing your entries into.
More info on exporting can be found here: http://help.penzu.com/?s=export

I would just like to say that I love using Penzu. I just noticed that it doesn’t let user attach any files like the other ones ive tried ( forgot the name). Attach files like PDF and Word documents.
I signed up yesterday and got the PRO the next day!!!.

They say “nothing worth having is free” its obvious none of those people have used Penzu. I’m 37 and I haven’t journaled since I was a teenager. Overwhelmed with thoughts on my heart I was reminded of just how therapeutic journaling can be but I cringe at the thought of taking pen to paper. I’m a techie and try to do as much online as physically possible. (I even do all my reading in the car via audiobooks). Penzu is the answer to my journaling prayers!!! Keep up the good work Penzu team! Although the FREE service suits me fine – I’m going PRO as a show of support – the price is GREAT!!!

Hello,
Is it possible to create different diary book titles? For example, with Wordpress, you can create multiple blog accounts all under your one main account. I would like to keep your content from getting cluttered together, to keep those entries separate which pertain to specific topics(ie. vacation specific/goals/problems pertaining to work, etc.) I would like to be able to pull up a separate diary ‘book’ for each of them. I tried also to log out and log in with a new password, but this required a new email address. Thanks!

I am a teacher who is interested in using Penzu for online journalling. I would like to be able to have my students write personal, secure entries but still be able to share with me (like an administrator). Is this possible with Penzu?

I would like for specific friends and family to access a specific journal. How do I do this without hitting the share button everyday and imputting their email address????

Been using this as a way to share a private correspondence with a friend of mine across the country and it’s been so wonderful. I noticed you fixed the double spacing issue over lines. Thank you! A couple of things about photos – - on the app., I’ve only been able to see three photos. If more are there I can’t view them, it seems, on a mobile. Probably just working within limitations there. Also they aren’t inline on mobile, which is ok.
A suggestion – - if the inline photos had an option to view large, as the attached photos do, then I wouldn’t need to do both. Not to mess them up with text but just be clickable to enlarge. And/or, if the view large option for attached photos had a view even larger option, that would be great too, as the view large is still kind of small.
Also one other glitch – - I’ve noticed if you change the color on a link, it no longer links. And a mouseover cursor switch to pointer would be nice for links too.
I know this is mainly for text, and the auto-saving is AWESOME. But if you are expanding someday, larger photos, video, and file attachment would be rad. Full media scrapbooking.
Oh, one other thing. I don’t really need the tab on the side of recent looks. An option to disable that would be cool.
I will be a Pro member for as long as there is internet. Thanks for running a good ship.

Is it possible to have an audio file attachment in the future for voice recordings?
Carl, October 25 2011 6:54 am
Not at the moment – sorry!

Great suggestions, thanks Carlos. To see more than three images on your mobile device, scroll across by swiping on the photos!

At the moment there isn’t a way to do this – Penzu is private!
